  • Preparing pre-schools, day nurseries and Registered Childminders for their initial registration visit and first graded inspection with Ofsted
  • Supporting early years and childcare settings to develop action plans in response to actions and/or recommendations given at their graded inspection by Ofsted
  • Developing, delivering and building upon training for all settings delivering the EYFS both within large settings to a full staff or committee base; to smaller settings individually and as part of cluster meetings and as part of conferences and full local authority offerings
  • Auditing Children’s Centres and Day Nursery Provision ahead of them offering two year old funded places
  • Supporting and auditing provision using the environment rating scales as a quality improvement tool and carrying out annual observation visits to settings as part of other local authority quality improvement processes.

In order to support the improvement of quality in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Trio inspire schools, settings and home-based childcarers to deliver a broad range of exciting learning opportunities.

Childminders

Trio Childcare Connections are particularly recognised as being unrivalled experts in the field of Registered Childminders.  Trio are involved with many national projects with the DfE and charities working with the department.  We support Local Authorities to build upon the quality of Registered Childminders to meet their specific childcare sufficiency requirements.  In many areas Trio have contracts to support and train childminders as part of the LA duty, and elsewhere are equally at home providing consultancy to internal teams.

Leadership and Management

Trio also work with Local Authorities to improve the leadership and management within settings by:

  • Providing formal reviews of the quality in the foundation stage in schools / settings as preparation for / after inspection.
  • Supporting recruitment in the maintained, private and voluntary sectors.
  • Supporting managers in setting strategic direction, analysing data, ensuring accountability and acting as a critical friend.
  • Offering bespoke training and development for staff teams.
