Trio offer a range of types of training: Face-to-Face, Distance, On-line, Blended.
  • Face-to-Face Learning: This is a learning method where the learner attends a taught “classroom” based session. There may be elements of home study (homework) to meet the course requirements. Study aids may be provided to support learning.
  • Distance Learning: This is a learning method where the learner does not need to attend a school or college. The learner can spread the study over time in order to meet their individual needs. Depending on the course, there may need to be points of contact / support with a trainer or assessor. Study aids may be provided to support learning.
  • On-line training (E-learning): This is a learning method which uses electronic media; there is no need to attend a school or college. The learner can spread the study over time in order to meet their individual needs. There is no contact with a trainer or assessor. Study aids may be provided to support learning.
  • Blended Learning: This is a learning method where some learning will be carried out in the “classroom” in face-to-face session(s) and there will also be elements of distance / on-line learning. Study aids may be provided to support learning.
  • Study Aids: These are a type of learning material which could be part of a course or could be stand-alone documents to support knowledge and/or practice.
  • Continuous/Continuing Professional Development (CPD): This is the skills, knowledge and experience you gain both formally and informally after any initial training. Through on-going self-reflection, you should record what you learn and how you apply it.
  • Qualificatory Training: This is training that leads to a formal accredited qualification, e.g. GCSE, A-level, Level 3, Level 4, BA Degree etc. It could be vocational or academic. It is granted by a recognised awarding organisation such as CACHE, City & Guilds or Edexcel.
It is recommended that practitioners reflect on all their learning to show the impact of their training on themselves and the children and families they work with. This reflection should be shared with their inspector.

Trio are ready to deliver the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) award from September 2014
